Our lymphatic system doesn't have a pump (unlike our cardiovascular system which is pumped by our heart) and instead requires the contraction of our skeletal muscles to flow. Or in other words: our own movement is what gets our lymph going instead of stagnating. So I think it's so interesting that some our favorite lymphatic herbs and allies pop up on the farm in late fall and early spring - as bookends to the winter season when we are more likely to be staying indoors and moving less! I like to lean on these herbs throughout winter as a little boost to help my lymph along. Plus their flavors are so bright and "green" and a nice seasonal reminder that the newness of spring won't be too far off.
Ingredients: our farm's fresh chickweed, cleavers, and dandelion leaves infused in organic apple cider vinegar.
Suggested usage: one tablespoon per day for general wellness (I like to add it to my first glass of water each morning, along with a little lemon). Also delicious drizzled on greens or as part of a dressing or sauce.
4oz bottle of herbal vinegar. Please reuse or recycle your bottles!
